Sabbagh: The struggle of the Palestinian people and their resistance against occupation will liberate Al-Quds (Jerusalem) and Palestine

Damascus, (ST) – With the participation of a delegation from Syria headed by Hammouda Sabbagh, the Speaker of the People’s Assembly, the Arab Parliamentary Union held a virtual meeting on Wednesday as part of its thirty-first emergency conference to discuss the conditions occupied Al-Quds (Jerusalem) is going through. The Union discussed the brutal violations that the Palestinian brothers are subjected to at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces 

In his speech at the conference, Sabbagh said that,the legendary resistance that the children, young men and the people of Arab Palestine are showing today against the Israeli occupation forces proves that Palestinian people have the real will to face the Zionist entity.

Sabbagh said that Syria has always affirmed its adherence to the banner of Palestine and Arabism and the supremacy of the Palestinian cause to the level of the first central issue. He indicated that, Syria and its army paid a heavy price for this adherence and made sacrifices in the face of the most brutal types of wars throughout the ages.

Sabbagh said that the heroic Palestinian Arab people’s standing in the face of one of the most horrific racist entities in history confirms that this people have taken the path of resistance to achieve their options and rights, on top of which is their right to self-determination.

Sabbagh said that the Holy City of Al-Quds (Jerusalem) is not just buildings, streets and history, but is the symbol that summarizes the Palestinian cause, which in turn boils down to the issue of the liberation of the Arab nation from the brutal and bloody chains of Zionism.

Sabbagh addressed the  proud Palestinian people in the squares of Al-Aqsa, Al-Quds (Jerusalem)and the rest of the occupied Palestinian territories, saying that, “the Palestinian people ‘struggle and confrontation of the bloody Israeli killing machine helps and works to liberate Al-Quds (Jerusalem)and Palestine and contributes to the liberation of the Arabs and the world. 

Sabbagh concluded by affirming that, the People’s Assembly in Syria stands with the Palestinian people heart and soul, and looks with pride  at their noble sacrifices, and that the Syrian and Palestinian peoples are one people, one enemy and one destiny, and their battle is one and victory is one, and Jerusalem will remain the flower of Arab cities and the eternal capital of Palestine.
