Sabbagh: Syria Won’t Compromise on Palestinian People’s Rights

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hammouda Sabbagh has stressed the necessity of coordination with the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) at regional and international conferences and in different activities that serve the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Arab people.

During a meeting on Thursday with Bilal Qasem, member of the Palestinian National Council and Deputy Head of Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean PAM, Sabbagh said that Syria, which has surpassed the most difficult phases of its war on terrorism and has become so close to complete victory, will continue to have Palestine as its central cause and will not compromise on the Palestinian people’s rights.

On his part, Qasem stressed continuous readiness for coordination and cooperation between the two sides at international meetings and for conveying the real image of the terrorist war Syria has been exposed to.

Qasem rejected all bids that aim at undermining the Arab identity of the occupied Syrian Golan.

Speaking to journalists, Qasem affirmed Palestine’s support for Syria’s war on terrorism, noting the importance of continuous coordination between the Syrian People’s Assembly and the Palestinian National Council in international conferences, particularly at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean.
