Sabbagh: Syrian-Armenian relations are deeply rooted

Damascus – Speaker of the People’s Assembly (PA) has stressed that the Syrian-Armenian relations are deeply-rooted, affirming the need to enhance these relations in all fields through mutual visits that reflect positively on the interest of the peoples of the two countries.

Sabbagh made the remarks during his meeting on Thursday with the Armenian Ambassador in Damascus Dikran Kevorkian.

Sabbagh talked about the crimes being committed by the Zionist entity in Gaza Strip amid the deadly silence of the international community, explaining that these aggressive and criminal practices are not new and stressing that the will of the Palestinian people and their resistance will triumph at the end.

For his part, Kevorkian noted the preparations for a visit by an Armenian delegation to Syria during the coming period, pointing out that this visit is important for strengthening the relations between the Armenian National Assembly and the Syrian People’s Assembly and for opening new fields of cooperation in different domains.
