Parliament Speaker Hamouda Sabbagh stressed the depth and strength of the authentic historical relations between Syria and Algeria and the importance of continuing joint work to strengthen and develop them at all levels.

During his meeting with the Algerian ambassador in Damascus Hassan Tohamy, Sabbagh affirmed the need to strengthen relations between the two countries in the parliamentary field through intensifying visits and exchanging experiences, in a way that achieves the common interest and benefit of the peoples of the two brotherly countries and contributes to more coordination and unification of positions in Arab, regional and international forums.

Sabbagh appreciated Algeria’s national and steadfast stances in support of Syria and its people in the face of the fierce terrorist plot and war it has been exposed to targeting its sovereignty, territorial integrity and various aspects of life. He indicated that the right will of the people must triumph over all forms of injustice, evil and aggression, no matter how long would it take.

For his part, Ambassador Tohamy pointed out that the victories achieved by the Syrian leadership, army and people against terrorism are a victory for all countries of the Arab world, and that the Syrian people have become an example to be followed by all countries of the world because of their heroic steadfastness in the face of the various difficult circumstances they went through. He reaffirmed his country’s support for Syria until achieving final victory and liberating its entire soil from terrorism.
