Sabbagh offers condolences over the Iranian martyrs un the Israeli aggression against the Iranian consulate in Damascus

Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hammouda Sabbagh and a number of the Assembly members offered condolences over the martyrs of the Israeli aggression that targeted the Iranian consulate building a few days ago in Damascus.

During his meeting with the Iranian ambassador to Damascus Hussein Akbari at the Iranian embassy Sabbagh expressed, on behalf of the People’s Assembly, the Assembly’s denunciation and condemnation of this treacherous and cowardly terrorist act, offering his deepest condolences to the friendly Iranian leadership, parliament, government and people for the martyrdom of a group of resistance heroes. He reiterated that the path of Syria and Iran is the same of resistance until victory is achieved.

In a statement to the media, Sabbagh said: “The treacherous and cowardly terrorist aggression carried out by the Israeli occupation entity against the Iranian consulate building and other practices that violate international, humanitarian and diplomatic conventions, norms and laws will not deter us from steadfastness and standing in the face of this usurping cancerous entity.”

This was followed by a tour by the Assembly Speaker and by Ambassador Akbari to a drawings exhibition inside the embassy that includes paintings expressing the idea of peoples’ steadfastness and resistance and pictures of the martyrs in the aggression against the consulate.
