Sabbagh meets a Libyan parliamentary delegation

Damascus, (ST) – Speaker of the People’s Assembly, Hammouda Sabbagh today in Damascus met with a Libyan parliamentary delegation led by Youssef Ibrahim Al-Aqouri, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Libyan Parliament,.

Sabbagh stressed during the meeting that Syria, despite the wars, conspiracies and sieges that befell it, remains the ever-beating heart of Arabism and the incubator of joint Arab action, as a result of the steadfastness and sacrifices of its people.

Sabbagh expressed his hope that this visit will be the beginning of strengthening relations between the two brotherly countries and increasing the frequency of mutual parliamentary visits.

For his part, the head of the Libyan parliamentary delegation stressed the importance of strong fraternal relations between the two peoples, and that Syria will remain a beacon of freedom, patriotism and nationalism despite the conspiracies being hatched against it aimed at neutralizing it from its principled positions, especially from its position towards the Palestinian issue. He pointed out that this visit aims to consolidate relations between the two parliaments and the two brotherly countries.
