Sabbagh: Israel’s repeated attacks on Syria pose a threat to international security and safety

NEW YORK, (ST)_ Syria has reiterated that Israel’s repeated attacks against Syria’s territories and sovereignty  pose a threat to international security and stability, referring to the fact that the Israeli enemy benefits from the protection which certain UN member states offer to it.

Syria’s permanent representative to the UN Bassam Sabbagh said  in a letter sent on Thursday to the UN Secretary General and UNSC that the Israeli occupation entity carried out new attacks on Syria’s territories violating the international law and UN resolutions.

On Wednesday, the Israeli entity carried out a missile attack on the coastal area in Syria where one civilian was martyred and 6 others were wounded.

The other attack took place at midnight when an Israeli helicopter fired a missile on a site in Jebbata Al-Khashar town . It left no damages.

“Syria warns of the repercussions of the UNSC’s ignorance of its responsibility for preserving international safety and security,” Sabbagh said, calling on the UNSC to seriously deal with the repeated Israeli attacks on Syria.
