NEW YORK, SEP.28, (ST)- The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Bassam Sabbagh, continued his meetings with a number of his counterparts, the foreign ministers of countries, who are participating in the work of the General Assembly, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
The agency reported that Sabbagh reviewed with the Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maxim Rygilkov, the various areas of cooperation between the two countries and ways to follow up and implement them, most notably holding meetings of the joint governmental committee between the two countries.
The two ministers stressed the importance of intensifying communication, coordination, and exchanging support regarding international issues of common concern at the United Nations.
Sabbagh also discussed with Badr Al-Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, the distinguished fraternal relations between the two countries and the efforts made to strengthen them.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates expressed Syria’s appreciation for the Sultanate’s supportive positions.
For his part, Al-Busaidi expressed his country’s support for all efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability in Syria.
In a third meeting, Sabbagh reviewed with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, Abdul Latif Al-Zayani, ways to consolidate cooperation relations between the two brotherly countries, and enhance communication and joint coordination between them on various issues of common interest.
In this regard, the two ministers affirmed their keenness to strengthen the distinguished relations between the two brotherly countries, in a way that serves their common interests and goals.
The two ministers in addition exchanged viewpoints over the latest developments in the region, the necessity of unifying Arab efforts to stop the barbaric Israeli aggression, and ways to advance efforts to achieve just and comprehensive peace in the region.
In another meeting, Sabbagh, discussed with his Jordanian counterpart,, Ayman Al-Safadi, bilateral issues between the two countries, where they affirmed their keenness to develop cooperation relations between them, in a way that serves the interests of the two brotherly countries, and also their common keenness to continue consultation and coordination regarding issues of concern, including the ongoing efforts to stop the Israeli aggression in the region and its disastrous repercussions.
