Sabbagh discusses with Bogdanov and Vershinin in Moscow the occupation’s crimes against the Palestinians and its attacks on Syria and Lebanon
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Bassam Sabbagh, discussed in Moscow with the Special Representative of the Russian President for Middle Eastern and African Affairs, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin, developments in the region and the Israeli occupation’s aggression against the Palestinian people, as well as its repeated attacks on Syrian and Lebanese lands.
During the meeting, which was attended by the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Ayman Soussan and the Syrian Ambassador to Moscow, Dr. Bashar Al-Jaafari, views were exchanged on developments in the region, in light of the dangerous Israeli escalation represented by the brutal and unprecedented aggression against the Palestinian people, especially the crimes of genocide it has been committing for 53 days, as well as its repeated attacks on Syrian and Lebanese territories. The latest of which was the attack on Damascus International Airport the day before yesterday.
Sabbagh stressed the need to immediately stop the aggression, condemn its perpetrators, allow the continued flow of humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people, reject all attempts to liquidate the just Palestinian cause and finally ensure that the Palestinian people obtain all their legitimate rights.
During the meeting, various aspects of bilateral relations between Syria and Russia , in addition to multifaceted coordination and cooperation between them were discussed.
This included discussions within the framework of the United Nations and other international forums, where the views of the two countries were similar on the importance of ongoing cooperation in the field of combating terrorism, the necessity of respecting Syrian sovereignty and most importantly ending the illegal presence of foreign forces on its territory, also confronting the negative repercussions resulting from the illegal unilateral coercive measures imposed by Western countries.
