Sabbagh calls for pressuring the international community to stop the Zionist entity’s violations

Today, the Union of Councils of Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation held an emergency meeting via video at the invitation of the Speaker of the Algerian National People’s Assembly, Ibrahim Boughali, President of the Union.

The participants discussed the dangerous developments of the situation in the Palestinian territories and the Israeli aggression against Gaza Strip.

Hammouda Sabbagh, Speaker of the Syrian People’s Assembly (Parliament), stressed in a speech during the meeting the importance of working with national parliaments and influential regional and international parliamentary organizations to immediately halt the barbaric Zionist bombing of the safe residents of besieged Gaza.

Sabbagh called on the members to raise their voices in support of the resisting people in occupied Palestine, and to condemn the Zionist massacres committed by the occupation forces against them.

Sabbagh indicated that words cannot describe the feelings of pride in this resisting people who have been able, with the least means and under the stifling siege imposed by the Zionist occupation forces, to make the occupation taste the bitterness of defeat, shame, and the humiliation of disappointment and brokenness.

Sabbagh explained that the occupation entity did not stop the campaigns of killing, displacement and displacement against the Palestinian people, and it also continues the processes of Judaization, changing the demographic and geographic structure of the land of Palestine, violating the sanctities, desecrating the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and assaulting worshipers and depriving them of performing their prayers there.

Sabbagh pointed out that Syria has considered Palestine as its compass and its first central and pivotal issue, and this is what President Bashar Al-Assad has always affirmed.

Sabbagh added that what Syria has been exposed to, including the terrorist war and the unjust blockade, which has affected all aspects of the Syrian citizen’s life and livelihood, is due to its adherence to its honorable and principled national stances, foremost of which is the defense of its rights and the sacred rights of the Palestinian people.

Sabbagh pointed out that everyone is aware of the absolute truth represented by the great injustice befalling the Palestinian people and the massacres that the Zionist aggressors have continued to commit against them, including bombing safe Palestinian civilian homes over the heads of their residents, killing thousands of people and wounding thousands others, most of whom are women and children, in addition to  the destruction of infrastructure, water and electricity networks, and hospitals amid the suspicious silence of the international community.
