Russian, US, UN representatives to meet in Geneva February 14

MOSCOW- The Russian, U.S. and U.N representatives will meet in Geneva on February 14, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said on Monday,according to ITAR TASS.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov, U.S. Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Wendy Sherman and U.N Special Envoy for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi will meet in Geneva on February 14, Bogdanov said.

 “We agreed that Russia and the U.S. would conduct permanent and energetic control over the negotiating process,” the high-ranking diplomat said.

This was done to convince the Syrian parties to show flexibility and reach agreement based on the Geneva communique, Bogdanov said.
