Russian, US diplomats discuss Geneva II Conference

MOSCOW- Russia’s presidential special envoy for the Middle East, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov met U.S. Ambassador in Moscow Michael McFaul on Wednesday to discuss prospects for settling the crisis in Syria by political and diplomatic means, according to ITAR TASS.

 

“During the meeting, Bogdanov and McFaul discussed ways to convene the Geneva II Peace Conference as soon as possible, as well as the Middle East settlement and the general situation in the Middle East and North Africa,” the Russian Foreign Ministry reported.

 

The meeting was held on the initiative of the U.S. ambassador.
