Russian State Duma Speaker: The United States is destroying the international security system

Moscow (ST): Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said that the United States, through its current policies, is destroying the international security system that was built to avoid a repetition of what happened in World War II.

Sputnik quoted Volodin as saying today on Telegram that “Washington has unilaterally withdrawn from very important international treaties, and these treaties would have preserved the military and strategic balance in the world,” noting that it deliberately ignores the United Nations, where it takes decisions away from it and pursues an exclusive policy, especially about bombing sovereign countries and invading other countries and they don’t even think about the safety of their allies.

On the Russian-American negotiations regarding security guarantees, Volodin said, “Washington’s response regarding security guarantees must be specific, based on solid foundations, and without delay,” noting that “the way out of the current situation and easing tension in the world now depends on the actions of the United States.”
