Russian researchers: Israeli aggression against the Iranian consulate threatens international peace and security.

Moscow-(ST)- The head of the European Security Department at the Europe Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences Dmitry Danilo confirmed that the Israeli aggression that targeted the Iranian consulate in Damascus constitutes a flagrant violation of the rules and outcomes of international law and threatens international peace and security.

Danilov told SANA’s correspondent in Moscow: “The Russian people strongly condemn the Israeli aggressive actions on Syrian territory and consider them a violation of Syrian sovereignty and the rules  of international law, especially since the recent attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus was directed against a foreign diplomatic mission on Syrian territory.”

Danilov explained that the Russian position emphasizes the necessity of adhering to the rules of international law, discussing such aggressive actions on international arenas, including United Nations platforms, and highlighting the dangers they pose to international peace and security.

The Russian researcher pointed out that the American position is the primary supporter of Israeli aggressive practices in general, stressing that Washington has lost its credibility through its unlimited support for “Israel,” especially in its barbaric aggression against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

In turn, the scientific supervisor for international affairs in the Russian Presidential Council, Andrei Kortnov, confirmed in a similar statement that the recent Israeli attack on Syrian territory is the first of its kind that leads to this scale of loss of lives and internationally important facilities.

The Russian scientific researcher pointed out that “Israel” is committing crimes on the territories of independent countries, relying on America’s aggressive practices in the world, the most recent of which was the assassination of General Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Quds Force, on Iraqi territory, disregarding all international rules and conventions. Courtnov stressed that Israeli plans to eliminate the Palestinian resistance and end the Palestinian issue are doomed to failure.
