MOSCOW,(ST)_ “The Russian position on the crisis in Syria has not changed  and all the next steps regarding Syria will be linked to the decisions included in the final statement of the Geneva conference, which constitutes the base for a political settlement in Syria,” the  Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov  told reporters on Wednesday.

Gatilov reiterated his country’s readiness to coordinate and work with its partners , including the USA , with the participation of the  UN envoy to Syria Lakhdar Ibrahimi.

The Russian official stressed that Ibrahimi did not discuss with officials at the Russian Foreign Ministry the possibility of developing a new plan to resolve the crisis in Syria.
