Russian MoD: Terrorists in Syria’s Idlib plotting drone attack on Hmeymim airbase

The “Jabhat Al-Nusra” and the “Turkistan Islamic Party” terrorist organizations are plotting an attack on the Hmeimim airbase in Lattakia countryside with the use of suicide drones, according to lOeg Yegorov, Deputy Chief of the Russian Center for Reconciliation and Coordination in Hmeimim.

In a statement on Friday, Yegorov said that terrorists from both groups have assembled and equipped a great number of drones with a range of action of up to 70 kilometers at workshops near Kherbet Al-Jawz area in Idlib countryside. “The drones are tasked to divert Russian air defense systems and hit Hmeymim airbase facilities,” he clarified.

On October 27th, the Russian Defense Ministry revealed news about preparations made by Jabhat Al-Nusra terrorists in their areas of deployment in Idlib countryside to carry out provocations with shells containing toxic materials against civilians and then accuse the Syrian Arab Army of this crime.
