Russian MoD: Destroying two bases of terrorist organizations in Homs and Deir Ezzor

Moscow-(ST)- The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that its air forces operating in Syria destroyed two bases of terrorist organizations in Homs and Deir Ezzor desert.

Deputy Head of the Russian Coordination Center in Hmeimim, Major General Yuri Popov, said in a press statement: The Russian air strikes destroyed two bases for terrorists who left the Al-Tanf area, where there is a base for the American occupation on the Syrian-Iraqi border in the eastern countryside of Homs. “The terrorists were hiding in difficult-to-reach areas in Al-Amour Mountains in Homs countryside and Al-Bashri in Deir Ezzor Governorate.”

The American occupation forces established military bases in areas they occupied on the Al-Jazira and in the Al-Tanf region since 2014 under the pretext of fighting the terrorist organization “ISIS,” but later facts confirmed that the American occupation took those bases as a starting point to support the terrorist organizations spread in the region, including “Al-Nusra Front ” terrorist organization and ISIS, which are listed on the international terrorist list, for recycling and using them in attacks on Syrian Arab Army positions, population centers, and vital facilities in Syria.

In a related context, the Russian military official indicated that two attacks were recorded by terrorists of the Al-Nusra Front and the so-called “Turkistan Islamic Party” during the past 24 hours in the Idlib de-escalation zone on safe sites in Aleppo and Latakia.
