Russian MoD: A drone launched by terrorists in Lattakia countryside towards Hmeimim airbase destroyed

Lattakia – Russian Defense Ministry announced foiling another drone attack by terrorist groups positioned in the northern countryside of Lattakia on Hmeimim airbase.

Head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation at Hmeimim Alexei Tsygankov said that Russian anti-aircraft systems on Thursday shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that attempted to approach Hmeimim airbase in Lattakia, noting that the drone launched from terrorist-held areas to the north of Lattakia, SANA reported.

Tsygankov stated that the target was destroyed with high precision, stressing that no injuries, casualties or material damage were reported and the operations at the base were not interrupted.
