Russian-Italian cooperation to provide assistance to the Syrian people discussed
Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin and the Special Coordinator for Syria at the Italian Foreign Ministry Stefano Ravagnan have discussed the situation in Syria.
A statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry said that during the meeting, the two officials discussed the Russian-Italian cooperation on Syria in the international arena and ways to enhance the humanitarian work program with the aim of providing assistance to the Syrian people in the light of the economic and social impacts of corona pandemic and the repercussions of the unfair unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria.
The two sides stressed the importance of implementing the US Security Council’s resolutions on helping the Syrians in achieving a political solution to the crisis in their country.
