Russian humanitarian aid to 400 families in the city of Palmyra

The Russian Coordination Center has provided food and medical aid as well as school supplies to 400 families in the city of Palmyra. The humanitarian aid was presented by the Russian government to the families who returned to the city after being displaced from it because of  terrorism.

Representative of the coordination center said in a statement to  SANA  correspondent  that “the assistance is provided  by the Russian government and people to the families who have returned to their homes in the city”. He pointed out that he felt  the joy and happiness of the families because safe and normal life has returned to their city, especially the schools which were reopened to help children continue their education.

 According to Center’s representative stationery was distributed to the pupils and food aid was distributed to the locals of the city, while Russian doctors provided medical assistance and consultations to patients.

He affirmed that  Syria and Russia are fighting terrorism on behalf of the entire world, calling  all the inhabitants of Palmyra who were forced to leave their homes as a result of terrorist practices  to return to their city.

On his part, Samer Dergham , Director of “Al-Malek Uthaina” school in Palmyra said in a statement during the process of distributing the stationery and school supplies that “the Russian aid to the schools would contribute to encouraging  the education process and lift the burdens of the displaced people who have returned  to their homes” after the Syrian Arab Army has liberated their areas from terrorism.

He thanked the Russian government’s firm support for the Syrian people which reflects the deep-rooted friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
