Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his German counterpart, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, plan to discuss ways of settling the ongoing crises in Syria and Ukraine at talks in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg on Monday, August 15, the Russian Foreign Ministry has said, according to RT.
Other issues regarding European security and the fight against terrorism are also to be addressed.
“The ministers of the two countries will hold talks, during which they will address urgent matters of bilateral cooperation in political, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas,” the ministry stated.
Prior to the talks, the two diplomats are to take part in the official opening ceremony of the Russian-German Summer School at Ural Federal University, dubbed “Ways of energy sector development. Contemporary challenges.”
