Russian Foreign Ministry: The United States does not care about the humanitarian needs of the Syrian people

Moscow (ST): The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the US administration’s decision not to extend the validity of General License 23, which is concerned with the partial lifting of sanctions on humanitarian aid provided to the Syrian people after the devastating earthquake that struck Syria on the sixth of last February.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, reported by TASS news agency on Friday, that Washington’s decision not to extend the validity of the General License 23 to lift sanctions on humanitarian aid provided to the Syrian people, which was issued in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that struck Syria on the sixth of last February, has caused disappointment, and it is a decision that must be condemned.

The statement indicated that this decision confirms once again the United States’ indifference to the humanitarian needs of the Syrian people and its disregard for the basic tasks of restoring vital civil infrastructure facilities in Syria.
