Russian Foreign Ministry: The Security Council’s failure to take decisions on the Middle East undermines the status of the United Nations
Moscow,(ST)- Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin announced that the UN Security Council is still unable to take specific measures to stop the bloodshed in the Middle East, which undermines the status of the international organization and increases the risk of a major regional war.
Vershinin said, during a press conference today on the results of the Russian delegation’s participation in the high-level week of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly that the UN Security Council was unable to take steps and measures that would put an end to the ongoing bloodshed and stop the violence due to the position of the United States.
Vershinin considered this to be very unfortunate and that it undermines the status of the United Nations today. He said we are working to achieve balance within the limits and we are very close to moving to a large-scale regional war in the Middle East.
