Russian Foreign Ministry: “The legitimacy of the Ukrainian Parliament’s actions causes concern”

Baku, Russia is concerned over the ongoing developments in Ukraine, says a statement issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry, APA reports.

The statement notes that the concern arises from the recent clashes in Kiev and other regions and acts of violence: “The agreement dated February 21 on the settlement of Ukraine crisis has not been fulfilled. The legitimacy of the actions of Ukrainian Parliament also causes concern. Guided only by a “revolutionary expediency”, “decisions” and “laws” aimed at violating the rights of Russians and other national minorities are stamped in Ukraine.”

Russia’s Foreign Ministry also expresses concern over calls for banning the Russian language and closing unwanted parties, organizations and media outlets and removal of restrictions on the promotion of neo-Nazi ideology: “The positions of some western partners are based on geopolitical calculation, not on the concern over Ukraine’s fate.”
