Russian Foreign Ministry: Moscow supports an international conference on the Middle East

The Russian Foreign Ministry announced today Moscow’s support for collective work to calm the situation in the Middle East, including through holding an international conference.

The Ministry said in a statement today: “Russia supports this position strongly for collective work, and it has always defended the need to follow a multilateral approach to addressing the problems of a political solution in the Middle East.”

The Ministry indicated that priority today is to speeding up the end of combat actions in Gaza, to ensure the protection of civilians, and the delivery of the necessary humanitarian aid to the needy, considering that external forces cannot be allowed to exploit what is going on in the region to dump the area in chaos.
