Russian forces set up 9 observation points in the Quneitra and Daraa countrysides near the “separation zone”
Russian forces operating in Syria have strengthened their presence near the “separation zone” on the outskirts of the occupied Syrian Golan, by establishing several observation points along this area in the Quneitra and Daraa countrysides.
The Deputy Commander of the Russian Forces operating in Syria, General Alexander Rodionov, explained in a press statement that the forces, in coordination with the Syrian Arab Army, established 9 observation points along the “disengagement zone” whose mission is to carry out surveillance operations via air and land.
He stressed that the Russian forces, which began their mission in Syria in 2015 at the request of the Syrian state, did not withdraw from any point in this area, but rather strengthened their presence through these observation points, and everything mentioned by some media outlets to the contrary is false.
In turn, a field commander in the Syrian Arab Army indicated that the deployment of friendly Russian military police units along the “disengagement line” enhances stability and security.
He pointed out that the cooperation and coordination between the Syrian Arab Army and the Russian forces and the exchange of information and expertise between them has consolidated security and stability in the region, helping the residents return to their lands after liberating them from terrorism.
