Russian forces end the Ukrainian water blockade of the Crimean people

Moscow (ST): The head of the local authority in Crimea, Sergey Aksionov, announced today the end of the water blockade imposed by the Ukrainian regime around Crimea after the peninsula regained Russian identity in 2014 and once again became one of the Russian regions.

“The water confinement of Crimea was broken thanks to the efforts of the Russian armed forces and the decisions announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin,” the first deputy head of the local legislature Yefim Fix said in an interview with Sputnik.

Fix pointed out that the North Crimean Canal was established by the Soviet Union, not Ukraine, to supply the Crimea with fresh water, and was closed by the Ukrainian regime to punish the Crimeans for their support for the return of their territory to Russia.
