Russian Federation Council accuses Washington of violating the NPT

The United States violates the provisions of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) by sending nuclear bombs to Europe. This statement was made by Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev.

“At the same time, the United States, through the mediation of NATO, has been cynically and shamelessly violating the provisions of the NPT over the past years. In fact, recently NATO movements of nuclear weapons and their components have become transcontinental, transboundary,” Kosachev wrote in his telegram channel.

The US is deploying B61-12 nuclear bombs to Europe, he said. According to the senator, delivery and installation at NATO bases in Europe is scheduled for December. He stated that this was a violation of the second article of the NPT, according to which states without nuclear weapons undertake not to accept their transfer directly or indirectly.
