Russian experts: Departure of US forces from Syria is a matter of time

 MOSCOW, (ST)- Chairman of the Russian Committee for Solidarity with the People of Syria and Libya Sergey Baburin has stressed that the presence of foreign troops in Syria without the approval of its government is considered as an occupation of its territories.

In a statement to SANA on Wednesday, Baburin said “this issue can only be solved by the Syrians themselves. If they ask for the stay of a party in their country, this will be their right, and if any foreign party refuses to leave the Syrian territories, this will be an illegal presence and an occupation of Syrian lands.” 

Baburin added that the United States has affirmed through its practices that it doesn’t care about the rules of international law on respecting the sovereignty of other countries.

 In  the same context, Russian political analyst Andreh Stibanov said that liberating Idleb from terrorist organizations is a necessity and a priority to restore security and stability to all parts of Syria, reiterating the need to end the illegal presence of occupying forces in the country.  

Stibanov pointed out that the American policy in the region depends on the principle of creating chaos and causing destabilization, which is an “unbalanced and reckless policy”.

He emphasized that the US presence in Syria and Iraq will end sooner or later, noting that the departure of the US forces is a matter of time.
