Russian Deputy Foreign Minister stressed that the United States must stop threats and escalation against Moscow as well as stop arms supplies to Ukraine in order to maintain relations with Russia.
In response to journalists’ questions today in Moscow about what should be done to preserve US relations with Russia, Ryabkov said, “What they should do is only stop their verbal escalation and the transfer of weapons to Kiev regime, and they should stop uttering threats against Russia.”
Ryabkov considered that the further development of relations between Moscow and Washington depends on the American side. “Yesterday, a protest note was delivered to the American ambassador. It stated that what is happening has put relations on the brink of collapse. The issue lies in the approach that the United States will choose for itself,” he added.
Ryabkov asserted: “If they manage to have some positive impact on Kiev, which unfortunately will not happen, then in general, I think, certain prospects for normalization of relations between Moscow and Washington will appear.”
Ryabkov noted that this escalation with the United States will not have any effect on our determination to move towards achieving the goals of the special military operation in Donbass and adapting to the conditions associated with sanctions imposed by the US and European countries.
