Russian Delegation Hails Government’s Efforts to Meet Needs of Displaced Families

DAMASCUS, (ST)-  Members of the Russian parliamentary delegation, visiting Syria, has stressed the necessity of continuous support for the Syrian people and government in the confrontation of the ongoing terrorist war. They have also hailed the Syrian government’s efforts to support the displaced families and meet their needs.

During their visit to the “Abdullah bin Jubair” temporary housing center in Dummar area in Damascus, members of the guest delegation were briefed on the living conditions of the displaced families at the center. They listened to details about the terrorist acts to which these families were exposed before they left their original areas.

 They expressed their hope that the war will come to an end soon as to help the displaced families return to their homes.

In a statement to SANA, Member of the Defense and Security Committee of the Russian Federation Council Dmitry Sablin hailed the Syrian government’s efforts to provide the basic needs of the families displaced from their areas because of the terrorist organizations crimes. He hoped that security and stability will be restored to Syria soon.

Coordinator of supervision on the temporary housing centers in Damascus Ismail Khallouf pointed out that the “Abdullah bin Jubair” center hosts 60 families of 235 members. Food aid as well as health and education services are continuously provided to these families by the government, Khallouf said, stressing the importance of the Russian delegation’s visit in providing psychological support to these families.

The Russian delegation, who began his visit to Syria on Saturday, comprised a number of parliamentarians, journalists as well as religious and social figures.
