Russian defense Ministry: US-backed Terrorists hold hostage 2,000 syrian rfugees in Rukban camp

The Russian Ministry of Defense revealed that the terrorist organizations supported and supervised by the US occupation forces are holding hostage thousands of Syrian refugees in Al-Rukban camp, in Al-Tanf area in the eastern countryside of Homs.

Deputy head of the Russian Coordination Center in Syria, Major General Oleg Gorinov, said in a statement reported by TASS news agency: “According to intelligence information received from Al-Rukban camp, the terrorist groups backed by the United States of America are holding hostage at least 2,000 people under tragic conditions and in dire need of food, water and medical care.” He noted that access to the camp “is still impossible for humanitarian organizations with no security guarantees.”

The Russian military official stated that during the past 24 hours and under difficult circumstances, “three people, two women and a child, left the camp, where one of the two women, who is in a serious condition, was transferred to a medical center in Damascus.”

It is noteworthy that the Syrian and Russian coordination bodies for the return of the displaced Syrians have confirmed several times that the United States of America is still insisting on delaying the process of closing the camp despite the tragic conditions in which the residents live. It is taking all measures that secure for its forces complete control on the Al-Tanf area, and continuing to support and equip the terrorists it uses for the continuation of tension and terrorism in Syria.
