Russian Defense Ministry: terrorists preparing to launch car bomb attacks in Idlib

On January 21, the Russian Ministry of Defense revealed information that terrorist organizations deployed in the city of Idlib and its countryside are preparing to launch attacks using car bombs.

“Terrorist groups have transported 4 booby trapped cars to the governorate of Idlib and they are preparing for a suicide attack,” the Head of the Russian Coordination Center in Hmeimim Major General Yuri Bornkov said.

 “We have received information from local sources and residents in Idlib about the transportation of 4 car bombs by terrorists to the city of Maarat al-Numan, which indicates the preparation of terrorists for offensive operations,” Bornkov said.

On January 19, the units of the Syrian Arab Army responded to the violent attack of the ‘Jabhat al-Nusra Front’ terrorists, and the groups allied with them, towards the army posts stationed on the Abu Dafna axis, southeastern countryside of Idlib.
