Russian Defense Minister Hails the Syrian Army

PARIS, (ST) _ The Syrian Arab Army, fighting the armed groups, enjoys a combat efficiency, Russian minister of defense, Anatoliy Serdyukov, underscored.

Minister Serdyukov, in press statements in Paris yesterday, said that President Bashar Al-Assad is the guarantor of the Syrian State, pointing out that His Excellency could never renounce his post, and would remain the President, describing any resignation as a ”suicide”, which would lead to nothing, but to the destruction of the Syrian State.

Last October, Minister Serdyukov declared that any foreign intervention in Syria would have disastrous consequences, asserting that the solution in Syria must be based on what the Syrians themselves want.
