Russian Coordination Center: Syrian army avoids civilian casualties and residential areas damaging

Latakia – The Russian Center for Coordinating and Observing the Cessation of Hostilities in Syria has affirmed that the Syrian Arab Army uses artillery and Air Force in a precise way to avoid civilian casualties and damaging infrastructure and residential houses, SANA reported.

Head of the center, which is based in Hemiemim airport, Lt. Gen. Sergei Kuryalenko told reporters Monday that terrorists of Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization continue launching attacks against Aleppo and Syrian Army positions at the south-west of Aleppo countryside since 3 April till date, pointing out that the Syrian Army killed more than 250 armed terrorists of Jabhat al- Nusra, destroyed two of their tanks and other military equipment during Army’s facing those terrorists.

 

The Cessation of Hostilities agreement, which came into effect since 27 February, does not include Jabhat Al-Nusra, ISIS and other terrorist organizations listed by the UN on the international terrorist organization list.

Gen. Kuryalenko indicated that al-Nusra terrorists’ shelling of Aleppo areas killed 82 civilians and injured 266 others during that last week.

On the other hand, General Kuryalenko said that the number of towns which joined reconciliation process has increased to reach 62, while the number of armed groups which announced their approval of the conditions of Cessation of hostilities has reached 47.
