Russian community in Syria celebrates Russia Day at Al-Azem Palace in Damascus

Al-Azem Palace in Damascus on Sunday hosted various artistic activities marking Russia Day. The activities included songs, musical concerts and dance performances by Russian folk bands.

Nikolay Sukhov, Director of the Russian Cultural Center in Damascus, told SANA that the Russian communities all over the world have commemorated Russia Day. The Russian community in Syria chose to celebrate this occasion in Al-Azem Palace in Damascus, due to its important cultural value, he clarified, pointing out that the celebration was broadcast by the Russian media outlets.

He went on to say that the Syrians who visited the palace on Saturday celebrated the occasion and took part in the artistic activities to express their support for Russia.

Russia celebrates its National Day on June 12 by holding different major cultural activities across the country and all over the world.
