Russian community in Aleppo celebrates Russia’s victory over Nazism in WWII

ALEPPO, May.5, (ST)-The Russian community in Aleppo province celebrated on Thursday the 77th  anniversary of Russia’s victory over Nazism in World War II.
 
The Russian reconciliation center organized the celebration, in cooperation with the Russian community in Aleppo, at Saadallah Al-Jaberi Square during which the Russian national anthem were played, and the victory slogan was distributed to the participants, as well as the Syrian and Russian flags were raised, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
 
The head of the Russian Coordination Center in Aleppo, Colonel Vadim Boyko, said in a statement to SANA that the center, in cooperation with the Russian community in Aleppo, hold this event under the title “Gyorsekia” which means the victory sign and reflects the victory of the Soviet Union in World War II over Nazism and the 25 million martyrs who sacrificed themselves in this war, referring to the cohesion of the Russian and Syrian peoples.
 
Russia commemorates the anniversary of the victory over Nazism in the Great Russian Patriotic War on the 9th May of  each year, which marked the beginning of a new phase in world history and put an end to Nazism and Fascism, which tried to take over the world in the 1940s.
