Russian and Syrian health ministries to strengthen cooperation to enhance the production of medicines
The Russian Ministry of Health announced its intention to strengthen cooperation with the Syrian Ministry of Health to develop the production of medicines and medical products, noting that the memorandum of intent in the health sector that was signed within the framework of the meetings of the joint Syrian-Russian governmental committee in Moscow.
The Ministry’s press office said in a statement today: “The Ministry of Health and the Russian Ministries of Industry and Trade, in partnership with the Syrian Ministry of Health, intend to develop and expand cooperation in the field of health treatment, including the production of medicines and medical products, in accordance with Russian and Syrian legislations.”
The statement indicated that the memorandum includes cooperation and joint scientific development of new medicines and medical products and ensuring their availability to the citizens of the two countries, as well as the implementation of joint investment projects for pharmaceutical products.
The statement added that the Syrian and Russian sides agreed to expand cooperation in the field of training specialists in the medical field.
The statement said: “The memorandum will contribute to the development of bilateral relations and cooperation for mutual benefit, including the development and supply of medicines and medical products on a stable and long-term basis.”
It is noteworthy that the meetings of the joint Syrian-Russian governmental committee in Moscow discussed the implementation of a number of cooperation projects. Also, a memorandum of intent in the health sector between the Ministry of Health on the one hand, and the Ministries of Health, Industry and Trade in the Russian Federation on the other hand was signed during the meetings.
