On July 19th, Chief researcher at the Center for Arab and Islamic Studies at the Russian Oriental Institute, Boris Dolgov, stressed that President Bashar Al–Assad’s speech after taking the constitutional oath included many important points such as developing and strengthening the economy, continuing the fight against terrorism and liberating the country from the occupation forces.
Dolgov said: “President Al-Assad affirmed in his speech that because of the Syrian people and their cohesion with their valiant army, Syria was able to overcome this difficult stage in the fight against terrorists and extremists.”
Political commentator for the Russian Central TV channel (TVS) Roman Perevezintsev said: “President Al-Assad’s speech is comprehensive and rich in content and outlined the basic directions for the country’s development in the next stage.”
Perevezintsev added: “ The speech presented President Al-Assad’s vision for development in the coming years, and spoke in a focused manner about increasing production and advancing the process of economic development.”
In turn, Mahmoud Muhailan, Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab Progressive Ba’ath Party in Jordan, said that President Al-Assad’s speech gives hope to many Arab countries as it included working on the Arab nation’s unity.
