Russian analysts and experts: United States and Israel are undermining stability in the Middle East

Director General of the Russian Center for Strategic Assessments and Forecasts Sergei Grinev affirmed that the American attacks on Syrian and Iraqi territories violate all international norms, noting that Washington, by repeatedly using force, violates the system of international law.

In an interview with SANA in Moscow today, Grinev also expressed his condemnation of the Israeli attacks on Syrian territory, which lead to the killing of innocent people and the destruction of civilian infrastructure, indicating that the United States also provides all support to “Israel” in its aggression against the Palestinian people and its use of excessive force against the civilian population of Gaza Strip, completely ignoring the consequences of the currently emerging humanitarian crisis, continuing to exterminate the Palestinian people, and rejecting the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

For his part, Deputy Head of the Middle East Research Center at the Russian Institute of World Economy and International Relations, Nikolai Surkov, asserted in a similar interview that “the American attacks on Syria and Iraq came as another step on the path to escalating tension in the region, and showed that the Americans are seeking to display by all means their desire to maintain their interests, even though this threatens the risk of a wide-ranging regional conflict.”

Sirkov stressed that “all these attempts will end with the Americans’ withdrawal, or rather their expulsion, from Syria, where they are undermining stability, plundering its wealth, and imposing harsh unilateral measures on it. This will be a strong blow to the United States’ hegemony in the world.”

In turn, Sergei Sudakov, a political analyst specializing in international affairs, pointed out in another interview that Syria a friend of Russia, and therefore Moscow stands by its side in confronting terrorist acts, including those committed by the United States and “Israel” against the Syrian people.

Sudakov said: The Syrian government is constantly calling for the withdrawal of the American occupation forces that entered the country illegally and without permission from the United Nations, stressing in this regard that the countries of the world must realize that they will not be able to defend themselves except by uniting efforts and working together to confront any aggressive and terrorist actions.
