The Russian ambassador to Sudan, Andrei Chernovol, announced that his country is studying all possible ways to evacuate Russian nationals from Sudan.
“It is not possible at the present time to talk about carrying out air evacuations from Khartoum, because the fighting is currently taking place at the international airport in the Sudanese capital,” RT website quoted Chernovol as saying today.
Chernovol said that the embassy had received 140 evacuation requests from Sudan, pointing out that the list of those wishing to leave is expanding due to the requests of citizens of the CIS countries and other countries.
Clashes have been taking place in Khartoum and a number of other areas for about ten days between the Sudanese army forces and the Rapid Support Forces, which resulted in many casualties among the military and civilians.
