Russian Air Force targets 277 terrorist targets in Syria in 48 hours

DAMASCUS – The Russian Air Force, in cooperation with the Syrian Air Force, carried out 85 sorties and targeted 277 terrorist targets in the provinces of Aleppo, Damascus Countryside, Lattakia, Hama, Homs, and Idleb within the past 48 hours, SANA reported.

The sorties resulted in destroying 23 command centers, 17 munitions and weapons depots, 90 fortified sites equipped with firepower and technical equipment, and 147 reinforcement and supply areas for terrorist organizations.

 A munitions depot for Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organization was destroyed completely in Idleb countryside, along with vehicles used by ISIS including 3 tanks and two armored vehicles 45km south of Palmyra (Tadmur) city and an underground munitions depot in the surroundings of Maheen in Homs countryside, SANA added.

In Lattakia’s northern countryside, the airstrikes destroyed a base for Jabhat al-Nusra which contained mortar launchers along with two machinegun-equipped vehicles, while in Damascus Countryside the Russian Air Force destroyed a concentration of vehicles used by ISIS in Beer al-Qasab area.

The airstrikes also destroyed a command center for Jabhat al-Nusra in al-Hader area in Aleppo countryside, killing the terrorist field leaders inside, in addition to destorying mortar launchers used by Jabhat al-Nusra in Kafr Zeta area in Hama countryside.

Jabhat al-Nusra has switched from the offensive to the defensive and laid down retreat plans as a result of the Russian airstrikes and of the operations conducted by the Syrian Arab Army on the ground.
