Russia: Israel’s Airstrikes against Syria Menace Regional Stability

MOSCOW- Russia takes serious issue with Israeli military aggression against Syria, a day after Israeli strikes claim four lives in the country.

On Tuesday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said Russia was concerned about the aerial attacks launched by the Israeli occupation entity against Syria.

Moscow believes that the assaults could pose a threat to regional stability, the statement added, according to Press TV.

Israeli warplanes fired missiles at areas inside Damascus and the city’s countryside as well as the western province of Homs from the Lebanese airspace.

The fatalities included a baby. The missiles also injured 21 others, most of them women and children.

This is not the first time Tel Aviv triggers a warning message from Moscow by engaging in direct and deadly aggression against Syria, Press TV said.

Israel has been repeatedly carrying out strikes on the Syrian territory on what it claims Iranian targets justifying its actions with security concerns over alleged Iranian military presence next to its borders. Iran, in turn, has been consistently saying that its presence in Syria as part of counterterrorism assistance was coordinated with Damascus and does not have to be agreed with Israel.

Zakharova: Israeli aggression gross violation of Syria’s sovereignty

Meantime, commenting on Israel’s air raids, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova described the attacks as a gross violation of Syria’s sovereignty and a threat to the regional stability, Sputnik said.

On Monday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told reporters that Russia is establishing the facts of the Israeli missile attacks on Damascus.

According to Tass, Lavorv said: “We do not know what happened there. We want to gain insight into it, but the necessity to respect and execute the UN Security Council’s operating resolutions, that no one canceled, is our principle which we will proceed from when assessing actions of any players in the region.”

Yemen’s Ansarullah Spokesman Condemns Zionist Attack on Syria

In Yemen, the spokesman of Ansarullah movement, Muhammad Abdulsalam, strongly condemned the Zionist attack on Syria, which resulted in the martyrdom of a number of civilians.

According to Yemen’s Al-Masirah media network, Abdulsalam stressed that the Zionist aggression is a criminal escalation in line with the steps of normalization by some hypocritical regimes that tempted the enemy to continue to threaten the security of Syria and the region.

He said that the natural position is to confront with full force the danger of the Zionist threat to the entire nation.
