Moscow –Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov said that Moscow welcomes Iran’s proposal to hold the next summit of Iran, Russia and Azerbaijan in Tehran, IRNA reported.
According to Russian Foreign Ministry, Lavrov told reporters in Baku that Moscow has accepted Iran’s proposal to hold the next round of Iran, Russia and Azerbaijan trilateral summit in Tehran.
He added that during the Baku Summit, the heads of the three states provided different mechanisms to expand trilateral cooperation.
Lavrov said that all three sides emphasized the importance of finalizing the Caspian Sea legal regime and also called for more attempts to be made to hold summit of the Caspian Sea littoral states in Kazakhstan.
President Hassan Rouhani had bilateral and trilateral meetings with his Russian and Azeri counterparts on Monday in Baku, Azerbaijan.
