Russia warns against establishing a no-fly zone over Syria, which may further escalate the conflict in Syria, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov said on Thursday.
He recalled that humanitarian organizations working in Syria never urged the establishment of no-fly zones there because this would be fraught with far-reaching consequences.
Gatilov also said that Moscow expects its Western partners to react to a proposal to hold a second meeting of the Action Group for Syria, which for the first time convened in Geneva on June 30, 2012,according to TASS.
During the gathering, a decision was made to create an interim government with the participation of all interested parties.
