On February 14th, Deputy Head of the Operations Directorate of the Russian General Staff Lieutenant-General Stanislav Gadzhimagomedov denounced the United States’ continuation of imposing its unilateral coercive economic measures on Syria.
Gadzhimagomedov said that these sanctions have led to a decrease in the standard of living in Syria.
“The US sanctions imposed on Syria through the so-called Caesar Act have intimidated many companies, including Russian companies,” a representative of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces told TASS.
The Russian general indicated that companies refuse even to enter into profitable projects in Syria for fear of falling under US sanctions.
Russia constantly denounces the Western coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people.
Last April, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov pointed out that many parties, including Europeans, fear the impact of the US so-called “Caesar Act” on them if they engage in any economic cooperation with Syria.
