Russia-US Agreement on Syria De-Escalation Zones Proves Countries Can Work Together to Achieve Global Security

MOSCOW, (ST)- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stressed that the agreement of Moscow and Washington on the de-escalation zones in Syria has proved that countries can work together to achieve global security.

In a statement to the media, Lavrov said establishing de-escalation zones in Syria “contributes to separation between the “opposition” and the terrorists.”

 “Our American partners under former US President Barack Obama administration didn’t succeed in dissociating terrorists from [opposition], but now we (Moscow and Washington) are achieving positive results in this field,” Lavrov added.
