MOSCOW, (ST)- Russian First Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Titov has stressed that Moscow will adopt a comprehensive response to any possible threat against it.
Titov was commenting on a statement by US Ambassador to Poland Georgette Mosbacher about transferring American nuclear weapons from Germany to Poland.
“Mosbacher’s statement is mostly a blow to the relations between the United States and Germany as well as a reaction to internal political discussions in Germany about the need to stockpile foreign nuclear arsenals on its soil,” Titov said.
He added that “it can be noticed that the use of pressure on partners is not a constructive method. Also, it is ironic to have a third country like Poland joining such a situation voluntarily and enthusiastically.”
“Regardless of the military equipment that will be deployed on the Polish soil and that will threaten our country, the concerned Russian bodies will take comprehensive measures to respond,” he made it clear.
