Russia to Continue Supporting the Syrians against Western Provocations: Zyuganov

MOSCOW, (ST)- Head of the Central Committee of the Russian Communist Party Gennady Zyuganov has stressed that NATO states are adopting provocative policies not only against Syria but also against many countries in order to destroy them.

In a statement to SANA correspondent in Moscow on Saturday, Zyuganov said “in their provocations and conspiracies, the Americans and their allies in NATO are using all possible pretexts to achieve their goal. They previously accused Iraq of possessing chemical weapons and so they did in Libya and Yugoslavia. However, they couldn’t destroy Syria, as the Syrian people have showed heroic resistance and courage that deserve pride.”

He added “we in Russia have provided assistance to the friendly Syrian people and we will continue to support them in their confrontation of western provocations.”

Zyuganov urged the Syrian people to always be aware of the conspiracies being hatched by the American circles.

“Provocations against Syria will continue because the West has mastered such destructive policies and used them against several countries, so more unified efforts and cooperation are needed to liberate the country from terrorists and NAT O agents,’ Zyuganov said.
