Russia: The US military presence in Syria is illegal
In a statement to Russia Today channel, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova referred to the illegality of the US military presence in Syria and that the Americans always commit to unrealistic matters and radically change their approach after changing their administration. She considered that what happened regarding the Iranian nuclear agreement is the most prominent example of Washington’s irresponsible approach.
Zakharova pointed out that Moscow follows a clear approach in international issues and respects international law and the resolutions of the United Nations and the UN Security Council, in contrast to what the United States is doing in disregarding its obligations.
Zakharova’s comments came on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg Economic Forum 2021, which will be held from 2 to 5 June.
